The Mason Downtown Development Authority is dedicated to supporting the economic growth of historic downtown Mason, Michigan. From professional services and banking to the Antiques District and unique specialty stores, Mason is truly a thriving community. Mason also boasts a promising future for nightlife and entertainment infused with a splash of fine dining!
The MDDA was created in 1984 by action of the Mason City Council. The MDDA’s purpose is to prevent the deterioration of the buildings and infrastructure of downtown Mason and to promote economic development.
The MDDA District consists of the buildings in downtown Mason and extends to include the Mason Antiques Market on Mason Street. MDDA is funded through the “capture” of a portion of the real estate taxes paid by each property owner within the MDDA District. Your MDDA is now embarking on a number of programs designed to promote and protect downtown Mason, including the Facade Grant program, the Liquor Licensing program, and the Business Attraction program.
